How you can make a retrograde work for you!

Mercury in Retrograde March 30, 2011 - April 23, 2011

I've discussed it here before that with my natal mercury (communication) and moon (emotions) and ascendant (external persona) ruled by Virgo & Gemini (mercury ruled planets) I am EXTREMELY affected by Mercury in Retrograde. Within this past cycle I have destroyed my phone, missed phone calls, missed emails, have a mysteriously defunct voicemail box, and most unfortunately got into major misunderstandings with several people!! With this particularly sensitive disposition I have several rules.

• I have avoided buying anything that involves shipping or contracts. I did ALL the online shopping I wanted to do before the retrograde.
• I do not buy plane tickets or other expensive tickets at this time.
• I have not signed any contracts and though are currently in this discussion of several will not commit to any until the retrograde is complete.
• I tell clients to check-in with me if I am uncharacteristically uncommunicative as more likely than not I didn't get your message!

This recent cycle though I have found this retrograde making me uncharacteristically nostalgic. Retrogrades are certainly known for this, as of course the energy is switched around but it's a new thing for me as I'm not one for sentimentalities especially when I think about the past. I am also doing a refresher spell for a client where I used this retrograde energy of nostalgia and longing as a positive thing! And it inspired me and occurred to me to spread the word that now is a good time to do a spell to make someone remember you! We cannot change the movement of the planets and the earth but we can respect them and try our best to work with what we are given. There are a few people who benefit from Mercury in Retrograde depending on their natal chart but you can also bring some things into your life if you work with this introspective energy properly. Retrogrades call for thoughtful reflection upon the past and for many a painful time of confrontation but also through that pain an ultimate resolution.

Stay strong and think slowly, almost meditatively, over things these days. Anyways, since you shouldn't be signing contracts or making any major decisions you should have some free time ;)
