In pagan days May was the month of outdoor orgies. As a result it has long been a tradition that May is not a good month to marry with the obvious lascivious and lusty background! Queen Victoria allegedly banned her children from marrying in May!
Now on the flip side though May doesn't necessarily go hand in hand with marriage it certainly goes well with lust and sexuality spells.
